Alice’s Adventures
in Wonderland
For the cover of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, I wanted to appeal to a younger audience and capture the mystery of the story. The illustration combines various playful elements, reflecting the book’s odd and surreal nature. I decided to use neon colors to enhance the trippy, unsettling, and dreamlike atmosphere of the story.
In the book design, I wanted to find typefaces that have a storybook feel, while bringing forward some of the Victorian elegance & playful absurdity. I chose Etna for titles since it has a slightly curious and whimsical appearance, but isn't overly decorative. The body text is Garamond Premier Pro, which keeps the literary tone, is comfortable for reading, and still feels expressive.
